Religion
Just because your 1/16 Irish doesn't make you Irish. Just because your step mum is German doesn't make you German. Just because your a catholic doesn't make you a catholic. I am so over, talking to people who believe they are Catholics when they don't go to church. The same goes for any other religion or race. Just because you are born into something, does not make you that thing. I find religion an important part of my life and going to church every Sunday isn't enough. You can't party with the devil on a Saturday night and walk with Jesus on Sunday morning, it's contradictory, it doesn't mean anything. There is so much more to Catholicism, and although it maybe seen as old fashioned and irrelevant seeing as we live in such a relax country, it still applies in every single country in the world. Who has heard of the 10 commandments? Everyone and just because you obey them doesn't make you a good Catholic, everyone with any sense of morality obeys these, Muslim, Jewish, Atheist, maybe not word for word, but the general gist. If your a good person you won't do these things. But the challenge is with things such as the 5 Church commandments and 7 deadly sins, as humans we are at fault and what makes someone a good follower of their religion is their ability to recognise and correct these faults. I know, I'm not perfect but at least I try to correct myself and believe that there is punishment for doing the wrong thing. So call me devout, or over the top, at least I can call myself a Catholic unlike others, who were just born into it.
